The Charles Surendorf II Art Foundation's mission is to inspire young, aspiring artists in our nation's high schools. We do this with assemblies, exhibitions, and two week-long workshops exclusively for and at high schools, using the art of Charles Surendorf II as a springboard, while teaching his unique block printing technique.  We also like to include K-8th grade students with lectures about different parts of history and Art.  We inspire teachers to use expression of "solving issues" with propaganda poster making, and showing how history was shared by artists in the past and the students should feel a sense of pride to share "NOW" history for the future students to come.

Current Event Schedule - OPEN LETTER TO FELLOW SOAK FRIENDS

Charlie Surendorf began his propaganda art in 1928, drawing cartoons for the local newspapers and then became a WPA artist in 1934,  a WWII poster artist, finally he found that life as an artist was much better spent with people, getting them to either raise their eyebrows or raise their glasses to his creation.  He did not take on arrogance, but he did take on a strong feeling about social justice and beautiful woman.  In memory of Surendorf, I formed a non profit foundation, to teach a part of history that carried the same views as today, in a Burning Man spirit of barter, love, and leave no trace left behind other than positive, creative spirit.  Beth Cook got it as she entered into the Charlie’s Woodblock Woodstock camp at SOAK.  In any time, past present and future we need to exercise both sides of our brain or we are lost.  I ask that none of you who got caught up in the feelings of SOAK lose that passion to share your right brains proudly.  Support the small Foundation who gives a shit about results and not about building an empire of cash.
We are the future only when we can give freely the truth about the past.  Thank you SOAKERS for the love, for loving Winkie the Camp Cat, and for all the energy that you gave me to keep on with my mission.
